Francisco Goya

(Spanish 1746-1828)

The following three prints are from Francisco Goya’s “Los Caprichos,” a book published as an album in 1799. The prints were an artistic experiment: a medium for Goya’s condemnation of the universal follies and foolishness in the Spanish society in which he lived.  These plates were created by Miguel Seguí y Riera (1858-1923) a Catalán engraver and master printer.
